One (1) man dead and three (3) others were injured following a shooting in Santa Cruz on Monday 27th March, 2023.
• The deceased has been identified as 52-year-old Fitzroy Alfred aka Tom Jones, a father of two, who was also an employee at Hilton Hotel.
• Among the injured victims are a schoolboy of San Juan Secondary school and another man identified as Lorenzo Roberts aka Murdock, while the other victim remains unidentified.
• Around 10:00pm, Alfred was liming with a group of men in a yard along Blazney Upper Road, Santa Cruz, when three gunmen approached and began shooting.
• Four victims including Alfred sustained gunshot injuries and were taken to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital for treatment.
• Alfred was later transferred to Mt Hope Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
• Alfred was known to be involved in any criminal activity and was reportedly killed by bullets intended for other persons affiliated with gangs in the area.
