Many families and businesses received and accepted settlement packages while seven (7) families refused the offer and took the Attorney General, N.I.D.C.O, the T.H.A and the Commissioner of State Lands, to court over the matter.
• According to the Chief Secretary of the Tobago House of Assembly, the Commissioner of State Lands, despite the pending court matter, served eviction notices and gave the green light to remove homers/occupiers and demolish houses in the area.
