• The deceased was identified as 33-year-old Jevaun Billy also known as “Rankin”, of SS Erin Road, Palo Seco.
• Around 9:15pm, Billy was liming with a friend named “Sugar” at Station 22 Bar at the corner of Los Charos Road and Main Road Palo Seco, when a white Nissan Tiida registered PDD 6252 pulled up.
• An armed man subsequently exited the vehicle and fired several shots at Billy, who ran off but collapsed a short distance away.
• The gunman pursued and shot Billy several times about the body before re-entering the vehicle and fleeing the scene.
• Residents of the area notified the police and the first responders W/A/Cpl Vincent and PC Mohit responded and discovered Billy’s lifeless body on the roadway.
• The officers summoned a DMO to the scene who viewed the body, made a pronouncement and ordered the removal to the Forensic Science Centre in St James.
• Homicide Bureau Region Three Crime Scene Investigator WPC Marshall also visited the scene and recovered Four .9mm spent shell casings and a Samsung cell phone.
This was the third murder that took place in the South Western Division for the month thus far.
Just on Sunday 2nd June, 2024, 74-year-old Henry Mungal was found stabbed and burnt to death at his home in John Jules Road Extension and Joseph Street, Fyzabad.
Also on Saturday 1st June, 2024, 21-year-old Dennis Jugoon aka Fats of Lezama Trace, St John’s, South Oropouche was gunned down outside his home.
