“It was like a horror movie”: This is how one of the eyewitnesses described an incident in which 2 children and 4 adults were shot and wounded in Sangre Grande last night while in the wake of a man shot and killed by police in Enterprise Chaguanas previous week Thursday.
• The children are both boys, ages three and 6. One of the boy’s leg was broken in two places from the gunshot injuries he sustained when the occupants of a white car drove by and opened fire at persons at the house of mourning.
• Relatives have stated that the incident has forced them to cancel the wake and quickly bury Ronelle Alexander, without a funeral service, for fear that the assailants may “shootout” the funeral service.
• One man who sustained a gunshot injury to the right leg and was treated at a hospital and discharged explained that while at the wake, rapid gunshots were fired in their direction.
Ronelle Alexander aka “Capepe” of Blake Ave. Extension, Sangre Grande, along with Quamie Wallace aka “Tusty” of Enterprise, Ricky Taylor aka “Ross” of Enterprise, was shot dead during a confrontation with central division officers at Enterprise Street, Enterprise, on Thursday 8th September, 2022.
