Immigration officer Selwyn Khan was cremated following a funeral service at his home on Wednesday 22nd February, just over a week after he was killed in an accident in Debe.
• Khan died after a truck driven by 55-year-old Dhanasar Sonny of Rochard Douglas Road, Barrackpore, struck his vehicle along M2 Ring Road at Gandhi Village, Debe on Tuesday 14th February.
• Police officers who responded to the accident said they got a strong alcohol stench from Sonny while speaking with him but he complained of chest pains and was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital by EHS personnel.
• By the time officers got to the hospital to speak with Sonny, he was nowhere to be found and hospital staff informed the police that he was not listed to be medically examined by doctors.
