A man was shot dead while liming at a bar in El Socorro early on Friday 14th April, 2023.
• The deceased has been identified as 35-year-old Clinton Jones aka “Bernie” of Ajodha Road, El Socorro.
• Around 12:30am, Jones was liming at Step Up Bar in Pundit Street, El Socorro near the Unipet gas station, with his back turned, when a masked man approached.
• The suspect pulled out a firearm and shot Jones several times, before fleeing the scene through a drain.
• Patrons contacted the police and officers of the North Eastern Division Task Force responded and took Jones to Mt Hope Hospital, where he was declared dead.
• Police from the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region II is continuing enquiries.
