ian spoke to Alicia Williams who strongly believes the body found off the north coast road is that of her daughter

The decomposing body of a woman that was found down a precipice off the North Coast Road in Maraval on Sunday 02nd April, 2023, is believed to be that of 17-year-old Latisha St Paul who was reported missing on Friday 12th August, 2022.

• This was speculated by St Paul’s mother Alicia Williams who believed that the body belonged to her daughter by the underwear and clothes that was on the decomposed body.

On Sunday 02nd April, 2023:
• At about 1:55pm, officers of the Maraval police station were on mobile patrol, when they received information about a body that was found in a precipice.

• Wpc Baptiste Williams and pc St. John responded to the report and proceeded to the location off the north coast road in Maraval Near Fond Pois Doux Road.

• The fire services search and rescue unit was also contacted and they went to the location where they retrieved the body from down the 50ft deep precipice.

• The victim was discovered wrapped inside two garbage bags which were secured with duct tape. The bags were then wrapped in a sheet which was also duct-taped and this sheet was covered with a comforter.

• The woman’s head was also wrapped in a plastic bag and there was an apparent wound to the left side.

• Her decomposed body was clad in a colourful sleeveless dress and a black bra and there were no tattoos on her body.

• The DMO visited the scene, viewed the body and ordered it removed to the forensic sciences Centre in St. James pending a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.

• Officers of the Region 1 homicide bureau of Investigations and the western division are continuing the investigations.

St Paul’s mother has also been allegedly receiving threats from a woman, who she suspects had something to do with her daughter’s disappearance.
