I was in Kroomen Trace, South Oropouche where “fish” was shot dead on Thursday 11th May, 2023
• The deceased was identified as 43-year-old Hillary James, also known by his alias “Fish” who was a labourer of St John Road, South Oropouche.
• Around 7:55pm, James was walking along Kroomen Trace, South Oropouche, when a man dressed in dark-colored clothing with a red bandana over his face approached.
• The suspect reportedly pulled out a firearm and shot James several times about the body.
• As James fell to the ground, the suspect ran off and made his escape.
• James’ stepson was alerted of the shooting and took him to the San Fernando General Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
• Officers of the South-Western Division and Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region 3 visited the scene and Crime Scene Investigators retrieved six 9-millimetre spent shells.
