Two men allegedly involved in a robbery at 6+1 supermarket in Enterprise were shot and killed by police, while another was arrested on Tuesday 17th May, 2023.
• The deceased were identified as 19-year-old Lijel Hemlee and Kisseh Lendore of Carenage, while 21-year-old Renney Malony of Clarke St. Railway Road Enterprise, was subsequently arrested in connection with the incident.
• At around 6:20 pm, officers received intelligence that the suspects who robbed 6+1 supermarket in Enterprise earlier that day, were at the house at Freedom Street Extension in Enterprise.
• While driving along the street, officers saw the men and were about to execute a search warrant when they were allegedly greeted with gunfire.
• The officers reportedly returned fire, and two men were later found nursing gunshot wounds.
• The duo was taken to the Chaguanas Health Facility where they succumbed to their injuries and the third man was taken into police custody.
Kisseh Lendore of Carenage was reportedly not involved in the robbery, and was at the wrong place at the wrong time.
• He reportedly went to drop off a transmission at the garage in freedom street when the incident occurred.
On Tuesday 16th May, 2023: around 10:30am, three men, two armed with cutlasses and the other with a gun entered 6+1 supermarket along the southern main road in Enterprise, and announced a robbery.
• One of the men proceeded to assault a coconut vendor who was packing the refrigerator while the other suspects relieved the proprietor of $2000.00 which represented the day’s sale and a quantity of alcohol before fleeing the scene along john street in Enterprise.
