A teenage boy was shot and killed in Arima on Thursday 1st June, 2023.
• The deceased was identified as 15-year-old Zion Oculien aka Queener of Antigua Road, Wallerfield, Arima.
• At around 12:45am, Pc Mc Dowell and Pc Babwah of the Arima C.I.D responded to a report of several loud explosions at an abandoned house in Antigua Road, Wallerfield.
• When they arrived at the scene, they found Zion’s lifeless body on the floor in one of the rooms covered in multiple gunshot injuries.
• The officers summoned the D.M.O who viewed the body and ordered it to be taken to the St James Forensic sciences Centre for an autopsy.
• Crime scene investigators also visited the scene and recovered several 9mm and 5.56mm spent shell casings as well as one with the marking TTR.
Zion was allegedly involved in the murder of 22-year-old Shakir Wells which took place in Antigua Road, Wallerfield on Tuesday 24th January, 2023.
• Around 11:30pm, Wells was in company with 19-year-old Martin Stewart of Antigua Road, Wallerfield in his silver/grey Hyundai Elantra #PDN 3608.
• Wells parked his car along a dirt road opposite the bakery along Antigua Road Wallerfield, and Stewart left to visit a female friend.
• Sometime later, several loud explosions were heard and Shakir shouted, “I’m not from around here.”
• More shots were fired at him and two men entered his vehicle and fled the scene.
• Wells was taken to the Arima district hospital by officers of the Valencia police post where he subsequently died.
Zion was allegedly staying at the home of a man, who was gunned down at his home in Wallerfield, Arima on Friday 02nd December, 2023.
• The deceased was identified 46-year-old Wendell George aka Fingers who was said to be involved in the murder of another man a few months ago at X-Tra Plaza in Sangre Grande.
• Shortly after 6am, was washing down the yard in front of his Antigua Road, Wallerfield home when three men, armed with guns, emerged from a motor vehicle.
• George began running and was chased by the suspects who opened fire on him, killing him at the scene.
• Police said George was a known firearm and drug offender and his name was called in the murder of his neighbour, 46-year-old Anderson Cudjoe of Antigua Road, Wallerfield.
On Thursday 27th October, 2022: Cudjoe was shot dead outside KFC at the X-Tra Plaza in Sangre Grande, around 6:00 pm, when he, a 28-year-old Arima woman, and her 10-year-old son, were leaving the fast-food outlet.
