Today I spoke to relatives of Devon Basdeo who was knocked down while crossing the highway in Charlieville, Chaguanas on Thursday 27th April, 2023.
• The deceased has been identified as 36-year-old Devon Basdeo, a father of two of Caroni Savannah Road, Chaguanas.
• Around 10:45pm, the driver of an SUV was driving north along the Uriah Butler Highway, when Basdeo reportedly attempted to cross the road.
• Basdeo was struck, and thrown about 150 feet before being run over by several other vehicles.
• Basdeo died at the scene of the accident and the upper parts of his body were torn apart.
