High drama on the Sir Solomon Hochoy highway between Freeport and chase village on Tuesday 19th July, 2022, after officers of the central division, intercepted a stolen vehicle and were reportedly engaged in a shootout with a suspect.
• The man fled from the southbound lane of the highway unto the northbound lane and into a swampy area off the highway. Police officers went in search of him but it remains unclear if he was found.
• The car that was reported stolen is a white Toyota axio motor car registration PEB 8995. the incident contributed to a massive traffic pileup along the southbound lane of the highway
