A security guard was killed after a sliding gate at a property under construction fell on him while on duty in El Socorro last night.
40-year-old Steven Noreiga was found dead under a gate at the NWT Enterprises compound at Global Avenue El Socorro South just after 2am on Thursday 14th July, 2022.
He was discovered dead under the gate, with a wound to the head, hours after he was not heard of and failed to respond to wireless transmissions and calls to his cell phone.
Noriega, who lived in Arouca, was employed with Special Forces Security Services Limited.
This is the second such tragedy where a gate at a property claimed the life of someone.
On Sunday, a gate became unhinged and crushed the head of 16-year-old schoolboy Kameel Ali at his Jagessar Street, Aranguez home. He died at the Mt. Hope Hospital.
