The country has recorded its third quadruple murder after four men were shot dead while four others were injured during a shooting in Gonzales, Belmont on Sunday 2nd June, 2024.
• The deceased were identified as 31-year-old Peter Abdul Williams, 30-year-old Kevin King aka Grimes, both of Rigsby Street, Gonzales, Belmont, 28-year-old Jonathon Arjoon aka Johnny or J Man of Lange Street, Belmont and 21-year-old Jayden Reyes of Leotaud Street, Gonzales.
• While the injured victims were identified as 20-year-old Justin Constantine, of Gonzales East, Belmont, 20-year-old Jasani Reyes, of Leotaud Street Gonzales, 21-year-old Jaheem Alleyne of Picton Street, San Juan and 47-year-old Onika Alfred of Lange Street Gonzales.
• Around 7:15pm, a group of men had just finished playing football and were liming at the corner of Escalier School in Belmont, when a white AD wagon pulled up.
• Gunmen subsequently emerged from the vehicle and started shooting at the group, hitting several persons before fleeing the scene.
• Reyes, Abdul and Arjoon died at the scene while King along with the other injured victims were taken to the Port-of-Spain general hospital for treatment.
• Residents of the area notified the police and Cpl Yearwood in company with PC Lashley of the Port of Spain Task Force West responded.
• On arrival they spoke to residents who informed them that the injured persons were conveyed to the Hospital.
• The said officers immediately proceeded to the hospital, where they were informed that gunmen followed the vehicle that conveyed the injured victims to the hospital and fired several shots at them as they were walking up the ambulance ramp.
• The said gunmen then followed King into the hospital compound where they shot him multiple times again, ensuring that he was dead before they made their escape.
• Senior Superintendent of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Rishi Singh said that a financial reward will be offered for information relating to this deadly shooting.
The last quad murder took place on Saturday 4th May, 2024, when 22-year-old Shaquille Ottley, 31-year-old Sadiki Ottley, 57-year-old Antonio Jack and 36-year-old Jonathan Osmond, all from Phase 1, Powder Magazine, Cocorite were gunned down during a mass shooting near Building F.
