For the second time within the past two weeks, gunmen tried to kill an Arouca man

For the second time within the past two weeks, gunmen tried to kill an Arouca man but he’s managed to survive:

• The man, identified as Brent Huggins was shot by an intruder inside his Manimore road, Five Rivers, Arouca home during the early hours this morning.

• Around 12:05am today, Huggins had just returned to his home when he observed his front door open. Upon entering, he saw movements from the corner of his eyes and then heard several noises followed by loud explosions.

• He discovered he was shot in the chest and was subsequently taken to hospital for treatment where remains warded in stable condition.

• Crime scene investigators found 2 spent shell casings at the scene. Pc Roopnarine of the Arouca C.I.D is investigating the incident.

On November 16th, 2022:
• Around 1:30am, Huggins was shot while walking along Marcus Road, fiver rivers, Arouca.

• At that time, a car drove passed him, made a U-turn and the occupants opened fire on Huggins who attempted to run on seeing the vehicle approaching him.

• He was shot in the upper right thigh and right shoulder and fell into a nearby drain where he played dead.

• He was conveyed to the hospital by EHS personnel where he was treated and discharged at a later date.
