Ferguson stated that some of the employees in the industry are ex-offenders and persons who were underprivileged and are attempting to leave a life of crime.
• He went on to say that while the association agreed to a temporary ban on the export of copper, for up to three months, it was against the shutting down of scrap iron exports for six months.
• He pleaded with Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley to reconsider its decision and meet with the association to meet common ground.
