Speaking at a Media Conference on Wednesday 12th October 2022, Former Attorney general Faris Al-Rawi said the indemnity wasn’t his idea, and that he was advised by senior attorneys after then Queen’s Counsel Vincent Nelson shared information of a conspiracy to defraud the public.
• At a Press Conference on Wednesday 12th October, 2022, Al -Rawi refused to answer questions on whether the indemnity deal was approved by the cabinet.
• He however added that he received the advice of senior counsels Douglas Mendes and Gilbert Peterson regarding the indemnity deal.
