An ex-murder accused was gunned down and robbed of a gold chain in Oropune Gardens, Piarco on Saturday 18th March, 2023. •
The deceased has been identified as 32-year-old Justin Pierre also known by his alias “Max” of Righteous Lane, Pinto Road, Arima, who was recently released from prison. •
At about 4:50pm, PC George and PC Thomas of the Arouca CID were at a Police Youth Club Meeting in Oropune Gardens when they received information about a shooting at Building 8A.
• When they arrived at the scene, they discovered several persons gathered around a man lying in the car park of building 8A with a broken foot suffering from gunshot injuries about his body and face. •
The District Medical Officer was summoned to the scene and she viewed the body, made her pronouncement, and ordered it be taken to the Forensic Sciences Centre in St James pending an autopsy.
• Pierre was also robbed of a gold chain he was wearing at the time of the shooting; however, officers recovered a gold bracelet he was wearing on one of his hands.
• Crime Scene Investigators visited the scene and recovered 10 spent 40 cal shell casings. • ASP Russel, Sgt. Ramoutar, PC Lopez, PC John, PC Ali, and WPC Marshall were among the officers who visited the scene.
• PC Mc Queen of the Region 2 Homicide Bureau of Investigations is probing the incident which has been classified as gang-related
