Ex-murder accuse 42-year-old Akili Charles, an advocate for bail for the murder accused, was gunned down at Covigne Road in Diego Martin last night.
Charles had challenged the Bail Act which denied bail for persons accused of murder and won that case at the Appeal Court.
Last week, the Privy Council upheld the Appeal Court’s ruling that the murder accused can apply to a court for bail.
