Customs and excise division seized millions in marijuana, alcohol and cigarettes over a 5-day period:
• On Monday 5th December: customs officials intercepted a barrel at the Pt. Lisas warehouse, containing 10 packets of various strains of high-grade marijuana. The packets weighed 5.19kg with a street value of $1,557,000.
• Other seizures included a large quantity of alcohol and cigarettes while conducting operations on December 1st, 2022.
• The marine interdiction unit of the CED alongside members of the TTPS executed a warrant in the Couva area where a large quantity of illicit cigarettes and alcohol were seized. These items carry a street value of $3 million tt dollars.
