Commissioner Jacob added that some persons who were arrested and charged with firearm-related offences and were able to easily access bail were posing a challenge to law enforcement officials.

• Jacob made specific reference to the Pennywise Plaza Heist where Christopher Noreiga and Brent Walcott remains fugitives from the law after they absconded when they were granted bail and are now wanted for murder.
The accused were released from custody after accessing a total of $6M bail, three weeks ago, are being hunted by police and are considered to be armed and extremely dangerous.

• Noriega and Walcott were arrested by police, on Tuesday 20th September at daybreak, hiding in bushes at Kalloo Street, La Romaine, San Fernando, following the deadly heist outside Pennywise Plaza on Monday 19th September.
• The information, which charged them with the murders of the two security guards Jeffrey Peters and Jeffrey Stuart and the wounding of Peola Baptiste and Allister Harris, was laid at the San Fernando Magistrates’ Court last week and warrants were obtained.

• Both men were ordered by Magistrate Deonarinesingh to report every day at the Arouca Police Station between the hours of 6am and 6pm but since their release on bail, they have failed to report to the Police Station. They were also ordered to remain indoors between the hours of 10pm and 5:30am by the Magistrate.
• Peters and Stuart were killed after several men, armed with assault rifles, ambushed them as they were leaving Pennywise Plaza with close to $2M in cash which was to be deposited at a commercial bank.
• Sometime later, four of the suspects, identified as brothers Kyle Ramdhan and Keyon Ramdhan, Greg Dodough and Deaundre Montrose, all from Fyzabad, were shot dead by the police after they ran into a resident’s property in La Romaine during a chase.

On Wednesday 16th November:

• 26-year-old Kemo Mc Sween was arrested when he went to sign at the Ste Madeline Police Station, and later charged with the murders of the two guards and the wounding of two others.
• He was arrested in September and charged with alleged firearm possession and had also been released on bail but was rearrested and slapped with the murder charges.

On Friday November 4th:

• Defence Force Private Ishmael Salaam was arrested at the La Romain Military Barracks and charged the following day with two counts of murder and two counts of wounding with intent.
