CCTV footage captured a man being shot and killed in Malick, Barataria on Sunday 9th July, 2023.
• The deceased was identified as 24-year-old Kalum Williams of 9th Street, Malick, Barataria.
• Around 1:30pm, Williams reportedly left his home to go meet a friend at Valley Road, Upper 6th Avenue.
• While walking along the street, a man ran up behind him and shot him in the head before making his escape on foot.
• Williams collapsed to the floor and residents who heard the explosions investigated and discovered him lying on the roadway, suffering from multiple gunshot injuries.
• They subsequently contacted the police and a team of officers led by Insp John, Cpl Dhill, Cpl Daniel, Pc Ali, Pc Morris, Pc Maraj, and Pc Jissoon, among others, responded, however, Williams succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
• Crime scene investigators also visited the scene and recovered 11 spent 9mm shells.
