Sherwin Bernard, a 50-year-old businessman, was shot in the face outside his Minimart at Vega De Oropouche Road, Sangre Grande.
Reports are the suspect, who was using a Nissan Motorcar,also took cigarettes and other items form the minimart.
It is also alleged that the brother of a former police officer was shot.
