51-year-old Dexter Junior Peters, a suspect in the sex abuse investigations at the St. Dominic’s Children’s Home in Belmont, more than 20 years ago, has been arrested.
• Peters, who lives in Tunapuna, was taken into custody by officers of the Child Protection Unit of the TTPS, when he showed up for work on Friday 26th August, 2022, at the St. Ann’s Mental Hospital.
• Peters, a former supervisor at the St. Dominic’s Children’s Home, took vacation leave shortly after the contents of the Sabga report, which specifically named him, became public. He resumed duties earlier this week.
• The suspect has been emloyed with the North West Regional Health Authority for close to 20 years. He was assigned to the Port of Spain General Hospital as a supervisor but when he resumed duties this week, he was reassigned to the St. Ann’s Hospital where he was arrested by police.
