ATTORNEY GENERAL REGINALD ARMOUR S.C., AT A PRESS CONFERENCE ON WEDNESDAY 22ND JUNE, 2022, REFUSED TO ADDRESS QUESTIONS AS IT RELATES TO THE AFFIDAVIT HE GAVE TO A COURT IN MIAMI, FLORIDA.

• ARMOUR CALLED A LAST-MINUTE PRESS BRIEFING WHICH WAS WELL ATTENDED AT HIS OFFICE BY MEMBERS OF THE MEDIA, WHO ASSUMED HE INTENDED TO FIELD QUESTIONS REGARDING HIS INVOLVEMENT AND SUBSEQUENT DISQUALIFICATION FROM THE MIAMI CASE.
• HOWEVER, THE AG REFUSED TO ENTERTAIN ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING THE MIAMI CASE CITING HE DID NOT WISH TO PREJUDICE THE MATTER AND HIS PREVIOUS PRESS STATEMENT STANDS.

• IN A LENGTHY STATEMENT ISSUED ON MONDAY 20TH JUNE, 2022, ARMOUR, WHO HAD PREVIOUSLY STATED THAT HE INTENDS TO SAY NOTHING FURTHER ON THE MATTER, SAID IT WAS ONLY AFTER HE SIGNED THE AFFIDAVIT, THAT HE WAS ABLE TO RECALL HIS IN-DEPTH INVOLVED IN REPRESENTING KUEI TUNG.

• HE SAID HE WAS NOT AFFORDED THE OPPORTUNITY TO CORRECT SUCH STATEMENTS IN THE AFFIDAVIT HE GAVE TO LAWYER REPRESENTING THE T&T GOVERNMENT IN A MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR LAWSUIT IN A MIAMI COURT.

• THE T&T GOVERNMENT SEEKS MILLIONS IN COMPENSATION FROM SEVERAL BUSINESSMEN AND COMPANIES ARISING OUT OF ALLEGED CORRUPTION IN THE BILLION DOLLAR PIARCO AIRPORT TERMINAL CASE SEVERAL DECADES AGO.

• AG ARMOUR’S STATEMENT COMES ON THE HEELS OF THE LAW ASSOCIATION’S GENERAL COUNCIL MEETING LAST WEEK AND MOUNTING CALLS FOR HIM TO BE REMOVED AND/OR STEP DOWN AS ATTORNEY GENERAL.
