Anand Ramlogan’s Freedom Chambers, issued preaction protocol letters late yesterday

Anand Ramlogan’s Freedom Chambers, issued preaction protocol letters late yesterday, threatening to take legal action to block the appointment of a new Deputy Chief Secretary on the grounds that Duke’s resignation was null and void.

• Acting on behalf of a Tobago resident identified as Krystal Fordyce of Darryl Spring Road, Tobago, the attorneys have stated that Duke’s resignation letter should have been addressed to the President of the Republic of T&T and the presiding officer at the THA.

In response to the threat of legal action, Chief Secretary Augustine said the argument of the attorneys was without merit adding that if their claim had merit, they would have approached the courts early this morning to block the election of a new Deputy Chief Secretary.
