An innocent man was shot dead after gunmen mistook him for another man in Maloney on Saturday 15th July, 2023.
• The deceased was identified as 51-year-old Anderson Matthew Joseph of Building 14 in Maloney.
• Around 1:00am, Joseph was walking from Maloney Boulevard heading towards Building 15, when a car pulled up next to him.
• Three men armed with AR-15 rifles then emerged from the vehicle and fired several shots at him.
• Joseph attempted to flee the hail of bullets, but collapsed on the porch of a ground-floor apartment and the suspects fired more shots at him.
• Joseph died at the scene while three women, ages 24, 44 and 49, who were nearby during the shooting, also sustained gunshot injuries and were later taken to the Arima District Health facility where they received medical treatment.
• The police were notified and crime scene investigators recovered 63 spent 4.55 shell casings at the scene.
• Joseph was killed in a case of mistaken identity as the initial target was allegedly a man named Yeshel John aka Monster of Building 17 in Maloney who was also clad in an orange T-shirt just as Joseph.
