An abusive Venezuelan man was found hanging at his home in Talparo on Saturday 21st January, 2023.
• The deceased was identified as 25-year-old Jefferson Hernandez who lived at the corner of Daniel Scott trace and Talparo Main Road, Talparo.
• Around 9:00pm, Hernandez’s 23-year-old cousin, who is also a Venezuelan national, arrived at their home and found him hanging from a rope that was tied around his neck and the other end on a burglar-proof.
• Hernandez’s child’s mother, who is also a Venezuelan, reportedly took their 5-year-old son and left after he became physically abusive towards her around 1pm on Friday 20th January 2023.
• This resulted in Hernandez committing suicide.
• The DMO viewed the victim’s body and ordered an autopsy at the Forensic Sciences Centre in St. James.
• Insp. Mascall, CPL Singh-John, and WPC Kong of the La Horquetta Police Station were among the officers who visited the scene.
