A young adult male was shot and killed while smoking a cigarette at a neighborhood shop, at Perkins Street in Arouca early on Monday 9th January, 2023.
• The deceased has been identified as 20-year-old Hakeem St. Hill aka “fingers” and “Lovey”, who also lived at Perkins Street in Arouca.
• Around 6:45am St. Hill was smoking a cigarette by a shop on the street near his home when loud explosions were heard.
• The business owner on checking observed the deceased lying motionless on the northern side of the business place with blood oozing from the left side of his body.
• A report was made to the police and PC George and PC Simon of the North Central Division Task Force Area-East responded and discovered St. Clair dead at the scene which they secured.
• ASP Ramharack, Insp. Highly and PC Roopnarine of the Northern Division along with Sgt. Bennett, WPC Diaz and PC Boyd of the Region 2 Homicide Bureau of Investigations.
