A woman was shot and wounded while at a food stall in Maloney early on Thursday 08th June, 2023.
• The victim was identified as 36-year-old Tahirah Innis.
• Around 12:30am, Innis was reportedly buying food near Building 7 in Maloney Gardens, when she heard a series of explosions.
• Moments later, she observed two armed men chasing and firing gunshots at another man.
• Upon seeing such, she became fearful for his life and ran off, when she sustained two gunshot injuries to her right elbow and ankle.
• She continued to run, but collapsed a short distance away and the suspects subsequently fled the scene.
• The police and paramedics were notified and Innis was taken to the Mt hope hospital where she was treated and warded.
