A woman was shot and killed at her business place in Carenage on Sunday 21st May, 2023.
• The deceased was identified as 69-year-old Radica Dabideen.
• At around 8:00am, Dabideen was at her business place Ravi by the bay located at Western Main Road, Carenage, opposite big yard, when a “customer” called out to her.
• When she went to attend to the customer, he allegedly stretched his arm through an opening in the burglar-proofed counter and shot at Dabideen before running off.
• Dabideen fell to the floor and died at the scene of the incident.
• A report was made to the police who quickly arrived at the scene and are carrying out investigations.
Three years ago, on June 23rd, 2020, Dabideen’s husband, 64-year-old Koongebeharry Jaisarie disappeared in Tobago and was later found buried in an 8-foot concrete grave at old Milford Road, Lowlands, Tobago.
• A woman and three men were subsequently arrested and charged in connection with Jaisarie’s murder.
• Police are currently unsure whether Dabideen and Jaisarie’s murders are connected or not.
