A woman was murdered at her Kelly Village, Caroni home on Sunday, by her boyfriend who remains on the run from police.
• Patrick King Budd, is wanted for the murder of Reena Ragoonath-Charles.
• Reena, a janitor with the airport’s authority, was strangled to death by Patrick at their who went on the run from the police.
• Reportedly, Patrick murdered Reena just hours after they attended the funeral service of murdered hardware owner 52-year-old Chandan RamjIt who was killed during a robbery at Three B’s Drive, Caroni North Bank Road on Monday 12th December, 2022.
• Ramjit’s funeral took place at his Hydraulic Trace Caroni home on Sunday, a stone’s throw away from where Reena lived.

On Sunday 18th December, 2022:
• 43-year-old Reena Ragoonath-Charles, a janitor with the Airports Authority was found murdered at the Ragoonanan Trace, Caroni South Bank Road, Kelly village home of her ex-common law husband.
• Shortly before 7:00pm, she was discovered by her ex-husband, Simon Luke Charles.
• Charles, who has a child with Reena, reported to police that around 5pm, he left her, his 15-year-old son, his aunt and 42-year-old Patrick King Budd, Rena’s boyfriend, at his Hydraulic Trace, Caroni home playing football.
• Budd, a janitor with century 21 assigned to Caribbean Airlines at the Piarco International Airport reportedly met Reena a few years ago when he was a next-door tenant.
• Reportedly, around 7:00pm, Charles said he returned home and discovered the house completely locked up.
• He was able to alert his aunt, who is deaf and mute, to open the door.
• Upon making checks, he discovered Reena lying semi-nude in her bedroom with blood oozing from her mouth and immediately contacted the EHS and officers at the Caroni police station.
• The DMO was summoned to the scene and upon examining the victim it was discovered that her body bore several marks of violence.
• She was found lying on her back with injuries to the neck and an autopsy was ordered at the forensic sciences centre in St. James.
