A woman was shot and injured while seated in her car with her children in Penal on Sunday 25th June, 2023.
• The victim was identified as 29-year-old Andrea Ragbir-Jagdin of Penal.
• Around 7:45pm, Jagdin, along with her husband and two children were in their Nissan Tiida about to leave their apartment complex in Lake View Road, Penal, when three men approached.
• The suspects, who had their faces covered and wearing dark clothing, armed with firearms, ran past the car and Jagdin became fearful and raised her hands to shield her face.
• Moments later a loud explosion was heard and Jagdin realized
that she was shot in the right elbow.
• The suspects then fled the scene in a black vehicle and the victim was taken to the hospital where she was treated.
• A report was made to the police and crime scene investigators retrieved one 9mm spent shell and a projectile.
