A Vincentian national was gunned down and another man injured during a shooting at Snake Valley, Laventille Road, Lavetille on Wednesday 17th August, 2022.
21-year-old Owannie Hutchinson was conducting construction work on a house with another man when a dark Suzuki Vitara pulled up around 2.25 pm and three gunmen emerged.
The suspects shot at the men hitting Hutchinson and the other victim.
Hutchinson, who was not involved in criminal activities, died at the scene of the shooting. Police took the injured man to the hospital for medical treatment.
He originally hails from Kingstown in St. Vincent and according to his sister, he got stuck in T&T during the height of the covid-19 pandemic and his passport expired.
He was awaiting a new passport in order to return to his homeland.
