A Venezuelan national died after he was knocked down while attempting to cross the Churchill Roosevelt Highway in El Socorro on Monday 01st May, 2023.
• The deceased was identified as 27-year-old Jose Gregorio Tenia Garcia.
• Early this morning, a 30-year-old driver of Picton Road, Laventille, was proceeding east along El Socorro Road when Garcia attempted to cross the road with a bicycle.
• The driver was unable to stop his vehicle in time and collided with Garcia who landed on the shoulder of the road and died at the scene.
