A Tunapuna man was found chopped to death near agricultural lands a short distance away from the Vishnu Boys College in Caroni on Sunday 1st January 2023, becoming the first murder victim for the year.
• The deceased was identified as Avin Mahabir of Pasea Road Tunapuna.
He was found chopped to death leading to agricultural lands by a farmer who went to check on his crops and notified the police. Officers believe Mahabir may have been killed several hours before his body was discovered.
