A Tunapuna man was chased and gunned down while gambling at a house on Maingot Road, Tunapuna on Christmas Eve.
• The deceased has been identified as 21-year-old Marcus Alexander of Maingot Road, Tunapuna.
• Around 1pm on Saturday 24th December, 2022, Alexander, who police described as a “well-known pest”, was gambling with other persons outside a house when three armed men emerged from a motor car.
• The suspects opened fire on the group who ran different directions. Alexander was the only person pursued by the attackers and he was shot multiple times about the body on the roadway where he died.
• Crime Scene Investigators found several spent 9mm and 5.56 shell casings at the scene. Some of the 9mm casing had the markings TTR (Trinidad and Tobago Regiment).
• Insp. Highly of the Northern Division and Sgt. Ramoutar of the Region 2 Homicide Bureau of Investigations were among the officers who visited the scene.
