A woman who was almost a victim of robbery after she made a bank transaction in Tobago, is warning citizens to be careful as she believes that bank tellers are working alongside bandits to stage robberies.

A similar incident occurred on Monday 24th April, 2023 as a 72-year-old pensioner of Valsayn was robbed of $23,000 moments after she left a bank in St. Augustine.

• At around 1:30pm, the victim exited Scotia Bank at the corner of St. John Road and Eastern Main Road in St. Augustine.

• While walking through the carpark, a grey Toyota motorcar registered PDJ 9252 approached and two men exited and announced a robbery.

• One of the suspects pointed a gun at the victim before relieving her of a white envelope containing $23,000 TT in cash, two gold rings and her wallet which had her driver’s permit and id card.

Also, on Tuesday 11th April, 2023 when a 69-year-old pensioner identified as Kathleen was robbed of $17,000 near Happiness Supermarket in Curepe moments after leaving Republic Bank in Valpark.
