A suspected bandit was reportedly beaten to death by patrons after he allegedly attempted to rob them at a bar in Arouca early on Thursday 14th September, 2023.
• The deceased was identified as Clinton Changa.
• Around 1:45am, the patrons were at the bar when they were confronted by two men, one of which was armed with a big stone.
• One of the men allegedly grabbed a woman; however, she fought back with help from a relative who tried to subdue the man.
• The two suspects then ran onto the Eastern Main Road to try and escape, when one of them was knocked down by a gold Nissan Almera which sped off on Golden Grove Road, Arouca.
• The patrons then gathered around the bandits and began beating them.
• The police were notified and the responding officers of the Northern Division Crime Scene Investigation Unit arrived at the scene and conveyed both men to the hospital where Changa was declared dead.
• The other man who is yet to be identified was treated for minor bruises and cuts to his face and is expected to receive a CT Scan and an X-Ray.
