• The deceased was identified as 33-year-old Denzil Brewster from Princes Town, while the injured officer remains unnamed.
• Around 8:30pm, Brewster was at Little Las Vegas bar along Lord Street, when he was confronted by a man.
• An argument ensued, during which, the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed Brewster multiple times about the body.
• A 24-year-old police officer, who was at the scene at the time, attempted to intervene; however, he too was stabbed.
• The suspect then fled the scene and the police and paramedics were notified.
• Both men were subsequently taken to the San Fernando General Hospital, where Brewster succumbed to his injuries.
• Investigations are ongoing.
