A shooting in St James, left two (2) men dead on Friday 09th June, 2023.
• The deceased were identified as 20-year-old Tyrell Webster Thomas and Yuri Moses aka Diamond.
• Around 8:00pm, both men reportedly went into a supermarket at Belle Vue Road in St James when gunmen approached.
• Moses who saw the gunmen, began to run and the men began shooting behind him.
• Thomas who was nearby also began to run when Moses reportedly grabbed him and used him as a shield.
• Both men sustained gunshot injuries and Thomas died at the scene while Moses was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries the following day.
• Crime scene investigators visited the scene and recovered 8 shotgun cartridges and 7 spent shells.
