A shooting in Maturita, Arima left two (2) men injured on Tuesday 04th April, 2023.
• The victims were identified as 48-year-old Junior Perreira, the business owner of Junior’s Mini Mart, and 23-year-old Jean Luke Carldon.
• Around 7:00am, The victims were reportedly restocking goods in the store In Bamboo #1, Maturita Arima, when a black vehicle registered PCW 7628 approached.
• Two armed men exited the vehicle and opened fire on the duo before re-entering the car and fleeing the scene.
• The victims sustained multiple gunshot injuries, and were immediately taken to Arima General Hospital for emergency medical attention where they were later transferred Mt Hope hospital to receive further treatment.
• Pereira reportedly sustained a gunshot injury to his shoulder while Caldon was shot in the neck and face.
• Crime scene investigators visited the scene and recovered 13 spent 9mm shell casings.
