A shooting in Kelly Village, Caroni left one man dead and two others injured early on Friday 28th July, 2023.
• Around 5:20 a.m., police received a report of a shooting on South Bank Road in Caroni in the vicinity of Kelly Village.
• When they arrived at the scene, they observed two vehicles one of which had bullet holes in it.
• Upon checking the vehicle, they discovered the driver unresponsive.
• The emergency health services were notified, however, the driver, who has yet to be identified, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
• The injured victims were subsequently taken to the Chaguanas District Health facility.
This was the fourth murder that took place in the Caroni area for the month of July thus far.
On Sunday 9th July, 2023, 40-year-old Imran Khan, a painter of Rabindranath Street, Kelly Village, Caroni was shot dead at a bar in Kelly Village.
On Wednesday 05th July, 2023, A CEPEP worker identified as Arshad Baal was gunned down in Ibis Gardens, Caroni.
On Monday 03rd July, 2023, 66-year-old US citizen, Ghandi “Bobby” Ramlochan who reportedly came to Trinidad to celebrate his birthday his 67th birthday was found burnt dead in a car in Caroni.
