A shooting in Arima left two (2) persons dead and two others injured on Thursday 15th June, 2023.
• The deceased victims were identified as 15-year-old Nicholas Jordan a Trainee Mechanic from Verdentdale, Blanchisseuse Road, Arima and 35-year-old Aneil Toolsie of Mt Pleasant Road, Arima.
• The injured victims were identified as 47-year-old Aeshwar Jordan, Nicholas’ father and 29-year-old Ryan Toolsie, the brother of Aniel, both of Verdentdale, Blanchisseuse Road, Arima.
• Around 8:00pm, the victims were liming with their relatives on the pavement in Mt Pleasant Road near Tannis Lane, when a gunman approached and shot at the group before fleeing the scene.
• Jordan died at the scene of the shooting while the other injured victims were taken to the Arima District Hospital, where Toolsie was pronounced dead on arrival.
• Ryan was treated for gunshot wounds to the face and midsection while Aeshwar was treated for a graze on his forehead and left foot.
• Crime scene investigators processed the scene and recovered 13 spent 9 mm shells and one projectile.
This was the 28th Double murder recorded for the year thus far and the 4th for the month of June.
Just on Saturday 10th June, 2023, 24-year-old Quincy Gopaul of St. Thomas Street, Tunapuna and 24-year-old Isaiah Esom of Taylor Street, Tunapuna and four roads, Diego Martin were gunned down while liming at a house in Tunapuna.
On Friday 09th Jue, 2023, when 20-year-old Tyrell Webster Thomas and Yuri Moses aka Diamond were gunned down at Belle Vue Road in St James.
Also on Friday 09th June, 2023, 47-year-old Raymond Weekes and his brother, 37-year-old Andy Weekes aka “Peppy” both of Upper Davis Street, Belmont were gunned down near their home.
