A shooting at River Estate Basketball Court in Cicada Extension in Diego Martin left one dead and another injured on Friday 11th November, 2022.
• The deceased victim has been identified as 44-year-old Lesley Downes aka “Paco”, a father of two of river estate, Diego Martin, while the injured man was identified as 32-year-old Che Gill.
• Reportedly, around 8:15pm, Downes and Gill were standing by a pavilion near the basketball court when a gunman approached and opened fire on them.
• Downes, a taxi driver, was shot in the chest and the back of his head, while gill was shot in his back.
• Both men were taken to the St. James Medical Facility where Downes was pronounced dead while Gill remains warded in stable condition at the hospital.
