A SAN JUAN MAN, IDENTIFIED ONLY AS ABREY, WAS SHOT AND KILLED WITH HIS OWN GUN DURING A FIGHT WITH ANOTHER MAN DURING THE EARLY HOURS ON SUNDAY 12TH JUNE, 2022. POLICE SAID AROUND 12:45AM, ABREY WAS AT SHENDE STREET, SUNSHINE AVENUE, SAN JUAN, ARMED WITH AN ILLEGAL FIREARM, WHEN HE WAS APPROACHED BY A 33-YEAR-OLD MAN KNOWN TO HIM.
BOTH MEN BEGAN FIGHTING AND SEVERAL LOUD EXPLOSIONS WERE HEARD. ABREY FELL TO THE GROUND AND THE POLICE WERE CONTACTED. OFFICERS OF THE NORTH EASTERN DIVISION RESPONDED AND TOOK THE VICTIM TO THE MT. HOPE HOSPITAL WHERE HE WAS DECLARED DEAD.
BASED ON INFORMATION RECEIVED, POLICE OFFICERS AT THE SCENE CONDUCTED A COMPREHENSIVE SEARCH OF A BUSHY AREA WHERE THEY FOUND A GLOCK PISTOL BELIEVED TO HAVE BEEN USED IN THE KILLING. THE MAN WHOM ABREY WAS FIGHTING WITH WAS LATER TAKEN INTO CUSTODY BY POLICE PENDING FURTHER ENQUIRIES.
