A robbery offender who was under house arrest was shot and killed at his Crystal Drive, Lady Young Road, Morvant home while cooking pigtail and corn on Tuesday 03rd January, 2023
• 26-year-old Nicholas Thomas who was outfitted with an electronic monitoring bracelet while on bail for robbery charges, was shot and killed in the kitchen of his home, located near Crystal drive car wash at Lady Young Road in Morvant.
• sometime after 9pm, Thomas was in his kitchen along with a friend cooking when a man entered with a rifle and opened fire on him before fleeing the scene.
• officers of the North Eastern Division, who heard the gunshots later located the scene and took Thomas to the Port of Spain general hospital for treatment but he died shortly after.
• Thomas was taken to the Port of Spain General Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
In August 2020: Thomas, Keshon Rojas, Tyrique Reid, both of second Caledonia Morvant; and Rojas’ sister Keisha Rojas De Freitas, of 18th Drive, Edinburgh 500, were charged in connection with a home invasion within the western division.
On Monday 3rd October, 2022: 23-year-old Keshon Rojas was one of four (4) bandits killed by police during a home invasion in Mayaro. the other dead men are Akel George of Caledonia Road, Morvant; Akini Simmons; and Odel Prieto of Covigne Road, Diego Martin.
