A Penal man was reportedly tied up and shot dead inside a bedroom at his home on Saturday 17th June, 2023.
• The deceased was identified as 27-year-old Gabre Mahabir of Aster Street, Penal Rock Road.
• Around 7:00pm, Mahabir, his wife and their 4-year-old daughter had just returned to their home and locked the doors.
• Moments later, gunmen allegedly broke through the front door and ordered the family to lie on the ground before ransacking the home.
• The suspects then took Mahabir into a bedroom where they tied him up and shot him multiple times in the upper body.
• The suspects then fled the scene with the victim’s jewellery, a quantity of cash and cell phones.
• A report was subsequently made and officers of the Penal Police Station responded and discovered Mahabir’s lifeless body.
