• The deceased was identified as 48-year-old Sadna Gangoo who was a recent contestant in the just concluded Mrs. India worldwide.
Gangoo was the 18th female to be murdered in the country for the year thus far.
The last female to be murdered was 36-year-old Shermell Roberts, a First Citizens Bank employee of Kitchener Avenue, Barataria was ambushed and shot outside her home on Monday 13th May, 2024.
Gangoo’s murder was also the second that took place at a health facility in the country for the year thus far.
Just on Sunday 2nd June, 2024, 30-year-old Kevin King aka Grimes was gunned down at the Port-of-Spain Hospital moments after he was injured during a shooting near the escalier school in Belmont which claimed the lives of 31-year-old Peter Abdul Williams, 28-year-old Jonathon Arjoon aka Johnny or J man and 21-year-old Jayden Reyes.
