A man who police said was the former head of the Rasta City gang in Maloney was shot and killed

A man who police said was the former head of the Rasta City gang in Maloney was shot and killed outside his Building 6 Maloney Gardens Apartment on Wednesday 2nd November, 2022.

• The deceased has been identified as 25-year-old Anthony Brown aka Gaza Fats, of Building 6, Apt 1-3 West, Maloney Gardens D’abadie.

• Around 4:45pm yesterday, the deceased was liming on the ground floor of building 6 in the vicinity of the northeastern entrance, in company with other persons, when three men all armed with firearms entered the same building via the northwestern entrance.

• The suspects approached the deceased and the other persons and began firing at the group running in different directions. Gaza Fats ran south but collapsed a short distance away where he died.

• The men then shot him several times about his body while he lay on the ground and quickly made their escape in a silver wagon along Jacana Boulevard.

• As the car sped off along Jacan Boulevard, the suspects opened fire hitting Javel Joseph, a resident of Building 7 who was about to enter his vehicle.

• The victim was taken to the Mt. Hope hospital where he was treated and remains warded in critical condition. Crime scene investigators recovered 35 spent 9mm shell casings, 7 fragments, 4 deformed projectiles and 1 live round of 9mm ammunition were found.
